The Tale of The Thrifty Frog
Over the past few years, I discovered immense joy in managing thrift stores. The interactions with customers became more than transactions — they became friendships. As a senior citizen, I decided to embark on my final venture: opening my own thrift store in my hometown, surrounded by familiar faces and the community I love. After exploring various locations, I kept coming back to the old St. Philip Neri School. I knew this was where my store belonged. It's a place where history meets new beginnings, and I can't wait to share it with you.
Autonomy with Heart: Why we Choose a For-Profit Path
Operating as a for-profit enterprise gives us the independence to run The Thrifty Frog on our own terms—putting community impact at the center of every decision. This isn’t a path toward financial gain; it’s a commitment to a model where fairness and fun lead the way. By working alongside local nonprofits rather than competing with them, we use our autonomy to empower neighbors, letting you decide where our monthly donations go. It’s about building a sustainable future where every fresh find fuels community support through collective choice.
Why We’re The Thrifty Frog
The name was born from a hilarious moment of pure joy—a photo of a frog in a pink cowgirl hat. It made us smile instantly, and that’s exactly the spirit we bring to our shop. We believe thrifting should be fair, fun, and filled with a playful energy that makes our community feel right at home.
